Teaching Resume and Statements
Living by the quote “Nothing is impossible, the word itself simply says I’m possible”, by Audrey Hepburn, has made my decision to become an educator easier overtime. I choose a career in education because I believed it is one of the most important factors needed in society today. I do not believe that becoming a teacher will change the world or our current economical situations, but simply help to improve it. Providing the knowledge needed in the youth, I will gain fulfillment personally and professionally. As I continue to be part of this valued profession, the inspiration to become a noble educator will allow me to have constant drive and determination to share useful knowledge.
I have had several great teachers who have inspired me to do and be the best person I can be; along with my mother, those teachers pushed me when I did not push myself. They allowed me to ask questions until I understood, and they offered several tools to master different skills. These teachers possessed the skills that I wanted to master. Being a teacher requires being a leader, to be patient yet firm, to be fair, to have reachable, but high expectations, being a great communicator, and to have great command of your content. This is the teacher I intend to be. As a current an educator, I understand my teaching style will evolve and strengthen over time as I reflect on my content, values, and experiences (good or bad).
I want to continue to create an environment deemed safe and comfortable for students to be themselves and gain self-confidence. The environment will motivate them to strive for and accomplish goals they have set for themselves and myself. Pursing a Master Degree in Secondary Education has allowed me to become a teacher that will a pivotal role in students accomplishing their academic goals. Throughout the course of this program, I have had the opportunity to teach grade five to grade ten. This program has shown me multiple ways to adapt to the learning community regardless of the age group. I understand that having the appropriate classroom management put in place can have a great impact on how students will learn and accept information.
A good teacher does not just demonstrate or explains; a good teacher learns, grow, and inspires. A great teacher helps students understands nothing is impossible. If at the end of a lesson students still do not fully understand an extraordinary teacher will brainstorm how to help children understand. That is the teacher I intend to become, and this program will allow for my goals to come to fruition.
